Deployment of IP Telephony at Alfa Telecom CJSC (MegaCom)
Reduced costs for international calls through the deployment of the Cisco Session Border Controller (SBC). Hundreds of times more concurrent voice sessions over the Internet, with a significant reduction in leased line costs.
MegaCom has strict requirements for its IT infrastructure. The equipment must offer high performance and functionality, and its flexibility must allow for scalability as needed.
A year and a half ago, the company faced the challenge of reducing the cost of international calls while simultaneously improving the quality and bandwidth of its communication channels. Previously, the company had used an E-1 circuit for this purpose, but it was difficult to set up due to its high cost and limited capacity.
To implement the SBC deployment project, detailed technical specifications were drawn up and an open tender was announced. Among the other participants was Green Light, which not only offered competitive prices in its proposal but also included training for employees on how to administer and manage the new equipment.
As a result, the company obtained a flexible solution whose capacity can be increased significantly without incurring additional costs in the future. The biggest benefit goes to subscribers: the cost of international calls has decreased while using fewer IT resources.
This is one of the few companies that does not simply implement a project but also provides expertise on how effective the solutions are. During the project Green Light met all its contractual obligations. On top of that, their people always aim to get things done quickly, efficiently and precisely.
