Deployment of IP telephony at Alfa Telecom CJSC (MegaCom)
Reducing the cost of international calls through the deployment of Cisco Session Border Controller (SBC). Hundreds of times more simultaneous voice sessions over the internet with a significant reduction in the cost of leasing communication lines.
MegaCom has strict requirements for its IT infrastructure. The equipment must offer high performance and functionality, and its flexibility must allow capacity to be scaled up as needed.
A year and a half ago, the business faced the task of reducing the cost of international calls while at the same time increasing the quality and throughput of communication channels. Previously, an E-1 stream was used for this, which was difficult to arrange because of its high cost and limited capacity.
To implement the SBC deployment project, detailed technical specifications were drawn up and an open tender was announced. Among others, Green Light took part in it, and the company included in its proposal not only favourable prices, but also training for staff to administer and manage the new equipment.
As a result, the company received a flexible solution whose capacity can be increased many times over without unnecessary further costs. The main benefit goes to subscribers: with fewer IT resources being used, the cost of international calls has decreased.
This is one of the few companies that does not simply implement a project but also provides expertise on how effective the solutions are. During the project Green Light met all its contractual obligations. On top of that, their people always aim to get things done quickly, efficiently and precisely.
